Day 1 IB Theater

A memorable performance that I participated in was shooting my latest movie, Tazmanian Devil. I had to perform a crying scene in front of my father in the film for 10 minutes, and they were a lot of people watching from the background. The scene was about my Dad finding out that I am joining a fraternity group on campus, which he believes to be demonic because he is a pastor. This performance is memorable because the crying scene is one of my strong suit in acting.

The lastest performance I have seen is watching the movie Dark Phoneix. I watch a lot of movies because I learn acting stuff from them, like how the actors react to specific things around them, and how the director moved the cameras around. Dark Phoenix was good, and I liked it.

Reflection of Viewpoint

During class next week and this week, we worked on the actors' viewpoints. Viewpoint helps and encourages both actors and directors but mostly actors to focus less on the psychology of their characters but more on the use of space, movement of their body. In class, we did many different viewpoints exercises and learned about several vocabulary terms you needed to understand before participating in actor viewpoint. Some of the terms we learned were Tempo, Duration, Kinesthetic Response, Spatial Awareness, Topography, Shape, Gesture, and Architecture. Tempo is how fast or slow something happening on the stage. A gesture is an expressive shape that has a beginning, middle, and an end — doing a movement with your body is considered as a gesture. A tempo can affect the action of the performer.
